Ioda Strengthens Position As Largest Independent Distributor Of Classical Music With New Content And Marketing Partnerships

CANNES, FRANCE–(Marketwire – January 25, 2010) – IODA, the global leader in digital distribution, marketing, and technology solutions for the independent music industry, today announced new content and marketing partnerships for its classical music catalog, which represents 4.5% of the United States classical digital market. The Philadelphia Orchestra joins IODA’s roster of leading classical labels that make IODA the largest independent distributor of classical music in the world. In addition, a new partnership with InstantEncore.com gives IODA labels access to valuable tools including a digital asset management system to easily customize and publish music, video, event listings, and buzz to websites, iPhone applications, Facebook, Twitter, and fan email alerts. The announcement was made today at the MIDEM 2010 Conference in Cannes, France.

Expanding World-Class Catalog

The Philadelphia Orchestra joins IODA’s world-class catalog, which includes Avie, Harmonia Mundi, Hyperion Records, London Symphony Orchestra, Mariinsky, New York Philharmonic, Nimbus, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, The Sixteen Productions Ltd., Toronto Symphony Orchestra, and Winter & Winter. Since 2003, IODA has cultivated a growing roster of high quality recordings from some of the most talented classical recording artists in the world.

“While digital has been the best way for non-aficionados to discover classical music for a number of years, we’ve also seen a significant warming among dedicated classical fans to digital over the past 18 months and expect that trend to continue,” said Chaz Jenkins, head of the London Symphony Orchestra’s LSO Live label. “It’s great to work with people who share our passion for reaching listeners who are new to classical music whilst also understanding how to cater to the demands of more expert audiences. IODA does both.”

New Marketing Partnerships

As more classical music fans choose to access the music they love digitally, the need for marketing applications for both artists and fans has become more important than ever. IODA’s new partnership with InstantEncore.com, a leading innovator in the classical world, enables its labels to access a wide variety of time- and cost-efficient widgets, mobile applications, and marketing tools to connect presenters and artists with classical music fans worldwide.

“In this rapidly changing digital world, we are thrilled to be partnering with IODA — a company that shows such innovative leadership in the classical genre,” said Margo Drakos, chief operating officer at InstantEncore.com, “We look forward to providing their incredible classical artists with the web and mobile fan-building tools for the 21st Century.”

IODA also publishes a monthly podcast dedicated to the classical music genre called Maestro Classical, which can be accessed at www.maestroclassical.com. The Maestro Classical Web site includes links to digital retailers such as iTunes where fans can buy the music, as well as more information about the music featured in the podcast.

Industry Firsts & Prestigious Recognition

As a pioneer in the digital distribution of music, IODA has led the way for independent classical artists to connect with their fans in the digital world.

In collaboration with IODA, the New York Philharmonic launched the first-ever classical music iTunes Pass in December 2009 with live concert recordings from the 2009-10 season with Music Director Alan Gilbert. iTunes Pass buyers can now receive digital liner notes for each release, and bonus content such as Alan Gilbert’s commentary from the stage, as well as lectures and talks by scholars and performers.

IODA clients garnered more than 18 Grammy nominations in 2009 for categories from Best Classical Vocal and Best Orchestral Performances to Best Classical Crossover Album and Best Opera Recording. The highly influential Gramophone Awards judges nominated nine of IODA clients in their 2009 selections including Harmonia Mundi’s Purcell: The Complete Fantazias from Fretwork, Hyperion’s Rachmaninov: Preludes from Steven Osborne.

“Classical music is one of the top selling genres within the IODA catalog, a fact we attribute to the quality of our labels and the dedication of their audience. We are fortunate enough to work with some of the finest labels and orchestras in classical music and applaud the way they’ve worked with us to embrace the digital marketplace and take advantage of new opportunities,” said Erik Gilbert, VP of Content, IODA. “We are dedicated to continuing to help the rich genre of classical music, from timeless recordings to cross genre and avant-garde releases, become even more accessible to an increasing listenership around the world. The combination of a stellar catalog and innovative marketing partners enables us to do that.”

What happens to the land Touring While in a cruise vacation?

What about touring while on a cruise vacation? Tours are available in the cruise line, do it yourself or you can combine the two. Booking through the cruise line has some advantages. Some of them are obvious.

When taking a cruise tour is sure that the cruise line has thoroughly examined the places that will take and the rate will be according to its difficulty. This lets you know in advance if this is the tour for you. They are always in charge of local tourism companies and these companies want to keep that business. For this reason alone to go beyond make you happy.

With a cruise tour of the computer know-buses, trains, trucks and aircraft are sometimes an A-. They will always have English speaking tour directors, but they also supply tour guides who speak other languages. You never have to wait in line to get into museums or other attractions, a great saving time. And of course, all work is done for you by tour companies and cruise lines. And it is safe. Cruise lines never put in a dangerous situation or take you to a dangerous place. There's always a couple of cruise line employees on the tour to make sure no one is lost and the bus leaves with the same number of people you started with.

When will a new port or exotic I would recommend the cruise lines excursions. Some of the most wonderful excursions we cruise ship visits were made.

Indeed, for a first time visitor this is the way forward. And if you choose this option when the guide tells you to be on Back on the bus at a certain time, be there. For being late is bothering everyone else on the tour and endangering the remaining stops are scheduled. When you get back to the ship look all around your seat for your belongings and do not forget the overhead rack.

On the other side of the cruise trips, will to travel by bus with many people. Will always be more expensive than doing so on their own. You're paying for the work that has gone to the sites visited and the experience of the guide tourism

When traveling on your own insurance that you have the name and port number of the agent in case of an emergency. (This is useful if you miss the ship). Always know what time does your boat. NOT based on the time printed in the original prospectus that you read at home. The departure time will be printed in the daily schedule and will be published on the runway. Things change and sometimes the boats that came earlier than previously announced.

If you miss the boat is your responsibility to meet in the next port. It is not a situation you want to be in. If you want to visit a place in their own insurance to do is open the day you are visiting the port.

Use common sense when turned. Do not use a lot of flashy jewelry, leave his cabin again locked in the safe or safe in the office of surcharge.

Use a purse that zips shut and keep a firm hand on it. Rome, Italy is known for picketing the pockets of all sorts of experts ways to pass the time.

Wear comfortable shoes, your days are long on tour and will probably make a lot of walking. Do not disperse on their own, stay with the group. layered clothing in colder climates, is very sensitive and can leave at 8:00 in the morning when still cold outside, but for noon is warm. Pack some wet so you can clean your hands. Always pack an apple or a chocolate bar for a little pick-me-up mid-afternoon long trips (the route of Le Havre, France to Paris was twelve hours).

I pack a small bag that has a handle that can be compressed to become a backpack or can be worn on the shoulder and in front of you. The package always contains Tums, any medicine I take, an extra pair of glasses, one for the sun and other for the interior, bottled water, a book of long bus rides, a small snack, a glass folding the wet tissues. My money and credit cards go into the interior compartment fully zipped up. When traveling in large groups or big cities put it over my shoulder with him in the face and hand I have always securely around him. If you are in an outdoor cafe, do not put the seat next to him or hang on the back of the chair is in use, keep in his lap. You do not have to be paranoid just be sensible. By following these guide lines you will have an enjoyable journey, no matter which option you choose.
